O154 Outcomes of bariatric surgery among patients with obstructive sleep apnoea: a systematic review, meta-analysis and a retrospective database analysis

Abstract Introduction Obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) is highly prevalent among patients undergoing bariatric surgery. Previous studies have reported a higher risk of complications, longer hospital stays and ICU admissions OSA following general surgery but clinical outcomes remain unclear. Therefore, we evaluated the adverse Methods We undertook systematic review meta-analysis followed by retrospective database analysis. Searches were performed using PubMed Ovid Medline. Bariatric that compared non-OSA utilised outcome measures included length stay, readmission within 30 days need for admission selected. Retrospective data analysis patient records was conducted from Royal Derby Hospital (RDH) comparing (N=49) (N=86) same measures.
